About Us

Over 55 years ago the Collingswood Church of Christ began with a few people with few resources but a whole lot of faith. The church met in member's homes, a public school and rented space while plans were developed for a new building. Land was purchased and the doors of the original building opened in 1955. By 2004 we doubled the size of our facility and now look forward to serving Collingswood and the surrounding communities for the next 50 years plus.

We are a nondenominational church where you can truly belong. We come together because God has forgiven our sins and is changing us into something new. As a group of people, we experience Jesus- His love, compassion, and grace. He fills us with His healing Spirit and calls us to follow Him. The Collingswood Family is a safe place where you too can experience love, acceptance, and forgiveness. If you are searching for a church home, we'd like you to know that there's a special place here just for you!

Our vision is perhaps best articulated in our mission:

Go with the life-giving message of of Jesus Christ to all the people.

Grow every member of the church to spiritual maturity.

Give of our time, talent, and treasure to serve others.

Group to develop Christian relationships in small group settings.

Glorify God in worship.

Our story is best told by our own people. Here are some of our present and past members testimonials:

John Flickenger: " Over 8 years ago I stepped into this church building for the first time. I was totally unchurched at the time. I found what I was looking for and didn't even know I was looking for it. It was a new family, hospitality , and joy I never had in my life."

Veronica Price: " I believe that God has worked through Collingswood church by only teaching from the Bible. Because of this, the Christians here know who God is and what He wants us to do. Having other Christian couples to spend time with has had a wonderful impact on our marriage. We have traveld all over the country and never met a more loving group of Christians anywhere."

Fay Ceraso: " My husband and I used to go to two separate churches, and the children would sometimes go with him and sometimes go with me. Some members from the church came around and taught me. Then Tony started to study with the minister. We were baptized and at last all of us were worshipping together. Our boys grew up in the church and are now blessed with Christian wives and children (our grandchildren) who also worship here."

Dave Williams: "Given the diversity, we continue to be an example of those who are seeking a church that knows no boundaries and sees no difference between black and white, for we are all one in Christ. Our members show an unconditional love to one another and to those who visit here."

Ted & Pat Schuehler: "We think the church saved our marriage. It amazes us how close the congregation is."

Bret Goen: "Our kid's best friends are from the Collingswood church. Although they fave friends from school, the friends they want to be with most are the ones from church."

Doris Taylor: "You just need to look around Sunday morning to see the various cultures meeting for one common purpose- I believe that this church is a little bit of what heaven will be like. I am a widow; my life depends on my church family. They encourage, challenge and love me unconditionally."

Clarence & Vivian Carter: "The signature work of love at Collingswood has consistently been we care."
